I don’t code.

I mean… like many of us, we could probably learn coding… but the opportunity cost is too great.

There is probably 10 other higher leverage tasks you could be doing in your business that do not include “editing a page template in WordPress”.

Here are the core questions we must answer if we are to deem the RipplePop service an effective investment:

What can RipplePop do?

OK well let’s quickly dive into my account to see what we have asked them to do since we started working with them 6 months ago…

As soon as you sign up for the
you get access to fetch.ripplepop.com, this is where you submit all your requests.

It’s a super simple dashboard that looks like this:

And take an exclusive tour here:

Check out all of our previous requests here:

You can see we have requested the following types of tasks:

I hope that gives you a flavor… they can do pretty much anything you can imagine from within your WordPress account.

Is RipplePop actually unlimited?

Since starting we are yet to max. out the “unlimited” plan. I can imagine if you submitted 20 requests per day, they would probably end up staggering these over a number of days… this makes sense.

They obviously have a fixed amount of skilled resources to service all their clients and therefore the service is not ACTUALLY unlimited.

But for the needs of an average SaaS marketing site, it may as well be. We have submitted up to 5 requests per day and they all get actioned within 1-3 days after that.

You can mark requests as urgent which will mean they will be bumped up to the top of your queue, which is useful when something critical happens to your site.

Is RipplePop actually good value for money at $399?

To answer this question we have to look at the alternatives:

1. Hire an in house developer

Unless you have a network of WordPress we developers already… we are looking at some kind of recruitment cost whether you use a recruiter or advertise through job boards.

Let’s say just $500.

Then depending on where you are based, a good WordPress custom web developer will cost between $2,000 and $5,000 per month in salary.

So after just month 1, we are looking at a minimum of $2,500 investment.

2. Hire a freelancer developer

More cost efficient for sure… but you will need to head to Upwork to find one… spend at least 8 hours in the interview process… only to hire someone that may or may not be good.

The average hourly rate for a WordPress developer on Upwork ranges from $20-$50 per hour depending on experience and location… and of course, you are giving 20% of that to Upwork.

You then have the trials and tribulations of managing a freelancer resource. You will need a spreadsheet, some kind of time tracking software and an instant message/video call system.

Since working with WordPress, we have exclusively communicated with them through their proprietary system which integrates nicely with email. We have had to exchange zero instant messages and have had to jump on zero calls.

3. Learn to code yourself

An even more cost-efficient solution for sure… but you will need to invest something 100 hours to understand HTML, CSS, and PHP in order to code effectively in WordPress.

Surely you have more important things to do?

Assuming your hourly rate is $20 per hour (definitely on the low side…), this investment will be $2,000.

In summary, other routes for WordPress development support will cost multiples of the RipplePop monthly cost, regardless of whether that is cold hard cash from your pocket in a significant investment of your valuable time.

And let’s face it… as a SaaS Marketer you need to be investing 100% of your time into:

None of those include diving deep into the PHP code of your WordPress theme

When do RipplePop work and where are they located?

RipplePop is located in Chicago, the US and is active from 11am to 7 pm CST from Monday to Friday. It is during these times that their team is available to action support requests.

Regardless of the above facts… there are two things I REALLY love about RipplePop:

1. Their customer service is insanely good…

I mean, who starts off a delivery conversation like this:

Not only are RipplePop incredibly competent (see the next point) but they are great people to work with: positive, fun and intelligent.

2. Their whole team are WordPress ninja’s

They are hands down the best WordPress development team I have ever worked with:

customer service

Seriously, I am yet to stump them and I have 5 years of experience working with WordPress and WordPress development teams.

These guys are not just hiring random WordPress developers, they are hiring true WordPress ninja’s. And the best thing?

They keep your developers with your team.. so you don’t have to keep explaining the same things about your site to each new developer. You will have just a couple of developers that support you for months on end.

And that brings us to the end of the RipplePop review…

If you, like me have high leverage tasks to get on with… I highly recommend you checking out the

Let’s face it… you have nothing to lose. You get
with no downside.
